We got an early morning start on this section of the Appalachian Trail. We had heard tales of a wondrous view. Hey, view or not, we were going to check it out. Also heard rumor of a great shelter and facilities. All we heard was true.

We met folks coming off the mountain from an overnighter, as well as thru-hikers. The winds from Hurricane Earl were the topic of the day. Camping equipment was put to the test by the 40 mph plus gusts. We found this to be a don't miss hike if in Vermont.

The reward was definitely worth the effort. What a fantastic view. From ranges in Vermont all the way out to the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
